Box Development

Up

Developments are regular 3D objects unfolded onto a single flat plane. For this project, we were required to design and make a prototype shoebox. It had to be practical, easily stackable, openable, and had to fit a average sized shoe into it.

First, we were required to research and find three website that had information on box developments. Next, we sketched three possible shoe boxes.

We selected a box that was the shape of a triangular prism. The peak of the triangle is where the ankle goes, and the toe goes in the forward taper.
