The goal of this project was to protect an egg from a 10 foot drop, using only 150 toothpicks, 2 inches of tape, and glue. The basic idea of it was to build a structure that protected the egg from all sides, and holds it's shape, yet was able to buckle on contact with the floor. This will absorb the impact, and protect the egg. The only problem with this is the possibility of a stray toothpick piercing through the egg on impact. Also, after the drop, we had 30 seconds to get the egg out. My egg was destroyed because my design did not absorb enough of the impact, and a toothpick went right threw the egg. Only one group's egg did not break, it cracked, then rolled out on its own. If the egg was in perfect condition, we got an A. If it cracked we got a C. If it was completely destroyed, we got an F. It ended up, however just being graded on our design and papers on the project, and almost everyone got an A. Below, are the 3 papers that we had to do about our project and the final design.
